Abstract
The rat OX44/CD53 protein is the prototypic member of a"novel" family of proteins. These proteins are characterizedby four highly hydrophobic transmembrane domains, twosmall extracellular domains, one of which is extensively N-glycosylated,and both the amino and the carboxy terminus intracytoplasmic.
