Fundamentos de la organización de hospitales y redes sanitarias en el Sistema Nacional de Salud

Abstract

[ES] En las últimas décadas, se han introducido grandes avances en las prestaciones sanitarias, pero la organización de los hospitales no ha cambiado al mismo ritmo. Es previsible que las demandas sociales, la evolución tecnológica y de las comunicaciones, así como los nuevos desafíos asistenciales condicionen cambios estructurales y de funcionamiento en el futuro. Se revisan los elementos comunes que condicionan el estado actual de los hospitales del Sistema Nacional de Salud y las previsiones de futuro ante una sociedad cambiante. [EN] While major advances in healthcare services have been made in recent decades, the organisation of hospitals has not changed at the same pace. It is foreseeable that social demands, technological and communications developments, as well as new challenges in healthcare will bring about structural and operational changes in the future. The common elements that condition the current state of the hospitals of the national health system and the forecasts for the future in a changing society are reviewed.
