Abstract

[ES] El Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) es un Organismo Público de Investigación (OPI) de referencia nacional e internacional en investigación biomédica y salud pública que desarrolla su actividad dentro de las siguientes áreas: Investigación biomédica y sanitaria, financiación de la Ciencia, prestación de servicios científico-técnicos y asesoría, y formación. El ISCIII, contribuye a vertebrar la investigación biomédica y sanitaria en el ámbito del Sistema Nacional de Salud (SNS) a través de sus centros propios de referencia y escuelas nacionales, y entidades adscritas como fundaciones, redes, consorcios y plataformas de servicios científico-técnicos. En línea con los objetivos de la Estrategia Española de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, el ISCIII ha asumido un firme compromiso con el nuevo Espacio Europeo de Investigación impulsando la internacionalización del Sistema Nacional de Salud (SNS), contribuyendo a la mejora de la excelencia y competitividad de su personal investigador, fomentando y apoyando la participación del SNS y comunidad científica en iniciativas internacionales. [EN] The Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII) is a public research organization of national and international reference in biomedical research and public health that develops its activity within the following areas: biomedical and Health research, science funding, provision of scientific-technical services and consultancy y academic education. The ISCIII, contributes to structure biomedical and health research within the scope of the Spanish National Health System through its own reference centers and national schools, and affiliated entities such as foundations, networks, consortia, and scientific-technical services platforms. In line with the objectives of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation, the ISCIII has made a strong commitment to the new European Research Area, promoting the internationalization of the Spanish National Health System (SNHS), contributing to the improvement of the excellence and competitiveness of its research personnel, encouraging and supporting the participation of the SNHS and Spanish scientific community in international initiatives.
