En los últimos años, los BCS han experimentado una notable evolución en sus roles y responsabilidades. Además de desempeñar las competencias consideradas tradicionales, han surgido nuevos roles que reflejan los avances en la tecnología y las cambiantes necesidades de la comunidad sanitaria y social. Estos nuevos roles se han vuelto fundamentales para satisfacer las demandas de información y promover la eficiencia en el campo de la salud. Se realizará cuestionario formato checklist a los centros y/o servicios de información del área de ciencias de la salud en Cataluña. En el listado de verificación se enumeran los roles emergentes que se han considerado en cada esfera según la evidencia científica. Los roles se clasificaron en cinco esferas: Apoyo a la Biblioteca, Apoyo al Investigador, Apoyo a la Institución, Apoyo al Paciente/Ciudadano y Apoyo a Nuevas Tecnologías. Resultados: En Cataluña se identificaron un total de 170 centros especializados en ciencias de la salud. Se realizó prueba piloto del 10% de los centros. Se observó que la esfera con mayor diversificación de roles fue la de Apoyo al Paciente/Ciudadano y apoyo a las Instituciones junto con una evolución significativa en la de Apoyo al Investigador. Conclusión: La transformación de roles reflejan la creciente importancia de los BCS. Se evidencia la capacidad de adaptación al cambio en tareas y responsabilidades para adaptarse a las demandas y avances en la investigación científica. La naturaleza cambiante de la atención médica y la constante transformación de la investigación científica enfatizan la necesidad de que los BCS se mantengan actualizados, desempeñan un papel fundamental en el campo de las ciencias de la salud, y su capacidad de adaptación y evolución es crucial para brindar un apoyo integral a la comunidad médica, científica y social. [EN] Introduction: The purpose of this study is to highlight the emerging roles that are developing in medical libraries, particularly those that have been adopted by Health Sciences Librarians (HSLs). In recent years, BCSs have undergone a remarkable evolution in their roles and responsibilities. In addition to performing competencies considered traditional, new roles have emerged that reflect advances in technology and the changing needs of the health and social community. These new roles have become critical to meeting the demands for information and promoting efficiency in the healthcare field. Methodology: The search was conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, LISA and Google Scholar from 2014 to 2022. Articles that did not confirm the new roles, dealt with clinical librarians, or pertained to other types of libraries were excluded. The articles were categorized into five spheres: Library Support, Researcher Support, Institution Support, Patient/Citizen Support, and New Technology Support. A questionnaire in checklist format will be sent to the centres and/or information services in the area of health sciences in Catalonia.
