The system was validated using 157 sequences (86 previously typed and 71 clinical samples) and correctly identified species and serotype in 100% and 84% of sequences, respectively. Known associations between specific serotypes and clinical syndromes are verified. Possible new associations are described to allow further independent testing.engAMhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Adenovirus Infections, HumanAdenoviruses, HumanAdolescentAdultCapsid ProteinsChildChild, PreschoolDNA, ViralGenome, ViralHumansInfantInfant, NewbornMiddle AgedMolecular Sequence DataPhylogenyPolymerase Chain ReactionSerotypingSequence Analysis, DNAMolecular identification of adenoviruses in clinical samples by analyzing a partial hexon genomic regionAtribución-NoComercial-CompartirIgual 4.0 Internacional1633312443126176-8210.1128/JCM.43.12.6176-6182.2005Journal of clinical microbiologyopen access
