[ES] Introducción: Esta investigación analiza los factores de riesgo psicosocial y público en entidades penitenciarias colombianas, considerando su impacto en la salud mental de los funcionarios administrativos y en la seguridad institucional. La evidencia reciente y las normativas nacionales exigen una comprensión integral de estos riesgos dentro del marco del SG-SST. Método: Se utilizó un enfoque mixto de tipo descriptivo, con aplicación del Análisis de Puesto de Trabajo Psicológico (APTP) y un instrumento diseñado para valorar el riesgo público. La muestra incluyó 300 funcionarios administrativos en 18 ciudades, distribuidos en 20 cargos. Se realizaron entrevistas estructuradas a titulares y pares, con triangulación de resultados y análisis por cargo, sede y tipo de exposición. Resultados: El 61% de los participantes presentó niveles medio, alto o muy alto de riesgo psicosocial. Las dimensiones más afectadas fueron demandas emocionales, carga mental y responsabilidad funcional. En cuanto al riesgo público, el 68% reportó exposición significativa a situaciones de inseguridad extralaboral, especialmente en Bogotá, Popayán e Ibagué. Cargos como profesional universitario, auxiliar administrativo e instructor concentraron los mayores niveles de doble riesgo. Los testimonios cualitativos evidenciaron percepciones de hostilidad, miedo y deterioro del autocuidado. Conclusiones: La evaluación conjunta de riesgos psicosociales y públicos permite fortalecer el diseño de intervenciones diferenciadas en el SG-SST. Se recomienda implementar vigilancia epidemiológica, programas de salud mental y estrategias territoriales para proteger al personal en entornos penitenciarios. La integración de dimensiones organizacionales y comunitarias resulta clave para mitigar el desgaste emocional y fortalecer el bienestar institucional. [EN] Introduction: This study analyzes psychosocial and public risk factors in Colombian penitentiary institutions, considering their impact on the mental health of administrative personnel and institutional security. Recent evidence and national regulations demand a comprehensive understanding of these risks within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SG-SST). Method: A descriptive mixed-methods approach was used, applying the Psychological Job Analysis (APTP) and an instrument specifically designed to assess public risk. The sample included 300 administrative employees from 18 cities, distributed across 20 job positions. Structured interviews were conducted with incumbents and peers, using result triangulation and analysis by job role, location, and type of exposure. Results: Sixty-one percent of participants exhibited medium, high, or very high levels of psychosocial risk. The most affected dimensions were emotional demands, mental workload, and role responsibility. Regarding public risk, 68% reported significant exposure to external insecurity, particularly in Bogotá, Popayán, and Ibagué. Job positions such as university professionals, administrative assistants, and instructors showed the highest levels of combined risk. Qualitative testimonies revealed perceptions of hostility, fear, and deterioration in self-care. Conclusions: The joint assessment of psychosocial and public risks strengthens the design of targeted interventions within the SG-SST. It is recommended to implement epidemiological surveillance, mental health programs, and territorial strategies to protect staff in penitentiary settings. The integration of organizational and community dimensions is essential to mitigate emotional strain and promote institutional well-being.
